The new cut comes on the heels of the anthemic single ‘MTSB’, released alongside the vaporwave-inspired animated video, and ‘Soothsayer’ – a hard-hitting cut praised by CLOUT for its “classic UK indie rock sound but with a slick, modern cutting edge”. Lyrically ‘Beyond Me’, says the band; “is inspired by the sense of inability to change one’s self, with the goal of avoiding the eventuality of getting into one failed relationship after another. We used downstrum, stabby chords and syncopated passing chords to create an almost classic indie rock sound”.

Directed by Martin J Pickering, and shot in the rural farmland of Cambridgeshire, England, the video for ‘Beyond Me’ captures the electrifying energy of the band’s live performances, as well as their playful attitude – Watch ‘Beyond Me’ Video Here.

A stunning feast of outrageous pop-edged songwriting, Dubinski’s self-titled debut is everything these four musicians have been working towards all their lives. It’s a testimony to their dogged determination, and also their innate positivity – after all, the record is themed around the law of energy return. Eugene explains: “The law of attraction is a philosophical suggestion that positive thoughts bring positive results, and conversely negative thoughts bring negative change. This piece of work is an exploration of the fact that both are found in our lives and that we welcome those inherent changes.”

The rest of the songs on the album are as diverse as they are dynamic. ‘Fall Right In The Grave’ is framed by darkness and loss, ‘Fall Right In The Grave’ is framed by darkness and loss, whilst ‘Gotta Get Out Of This Place’ is rooted in their hard-working studio dynamic, with producers Grammy Award winning producers/engineers Mike Horner (Yonaka, Franz Ferdinand, Hot Chip) and Robbie Nelson (Beck, Jarvis Cocker, Rolling Stones), pushing Eugene to record his vocals more than 20 times before the perfect take emerged.

Taken as a whole, Dubinski’s debut album is a shattering, cathartic experience. It’s a record fueled by brotherhood and trust, by loss and the empowering impact of communal emotion. More than anything else, it’s a launching point, a marker of the sheer will that has dragged Dubinski from the Highlands of Scotland out into the bigger world. “I sometimes wonder what the hell we would be doing if we didn’t have a band,” Eoin muses. “It’s the umbilical cord that keeps us all together”.

Having returned to the live circuit in Spring with a month-long residency at The Voodoo Rooms (Speakeasy) in Edinburgh, the band is now ready to take their rapturous live set across the UK with a series of shows in independent, grassroots venues including The Ferret in Preston on September 30th, Mr Wolfs in Bristol on October 1st, Sneaky Pete’s in Edinburgh on October 7th, NE Volume Bar in Stockton on October 14th, and MacArts in Galashiels on October 15th.
