SOBRIQUET Announce New EP ‘A Hundred Thousand Tongues’

Set for release on 1 May

Release New Track ‘Benighted’ With Dramatically Dark Music Video

obriquet, a unique 5-piece rock band from Sheffield, have announced the self-release of their intense 4-track EP ‘A Hundred Thousand Tongues’ on 1st May. They’ve also released new track ‘Benighted’ with a dramatic dark music video directed by While She Sleeps’ bassist Aaran McKenzie.

“The new song is a story of a killing from the perspective of the victim and how, despite the physical ‘victory’ of the assailant, the victim knows it won’t make them happy or better off. The definition of benighted is that of someone who is in a state of moral and epistemic ignorance, which sums up the dynamic of the song perfectly.” says frontman Ludovico Fahey on the new track.

Over the past three years, Sobriquet have crafted a tone and sound that’s undeniably their own. For this EP release, they also incorporated unique production techniques and styles, while recording at Steel City Studio with Phil Gornell and Callum Benson, resulting in a mammoth-sounding collection of tracks.

The band take primary influence from bands such as Glassjaw, Finch, and At the Drive In, though their live shows and on-stage presence have more in common with bands such as Fever 333 and The Dillinger Escape Plan.

Catch Sobriquet live at their EP release show on Thursday, 7th May at Network 2, Sheffield.
