Just announced: Summer Nights at the Bandstand has been postponed until 2021.

Regular Music today announced that due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this year’s Summer Nights at the Bandstand in Glasgow will not be going ahead this July and August.

Remarkably, however, almost all of the line-up for this year’s concert series have already committed to playing Summer Nights at the Bandstand in 2021 instead with Suzanne Vega, Belinda Carlisle, Rufus Wainwright, Van Morrison, KT Tunstall, Rick Astley, Richard Hawley, Primal Scream, King Creosote, The Jesus & Mary Chain, Edwyn Collins and Altered Images all signing up to perform next year.

Mark Mackie, director of Regular Music said earlier:

“Ever since it became apparent that we would not be able to stage our annual Summer Nights concert series at Kelvingrove Bandstand, we have been working away to reschedule the concerts.

Amazingly, all of the artists want to come next year and most have already been able to confirm their shows, with only one still working on their schedule to be with us. The new shows will all be on their equivalent dates next summer.

We’re grateful to both the artists, many of whom went out of their way to make this possible, and to the ticketholders for their patience while we did so.

We’re confident that we’ll have Yusuf/Cat Stevens as part of the line-up for next year.  We haven’t been able to confirm the show 100% quite yet and will be in touch with ticket holders with news as soon as we can.”

The artists and rescheduled dates for Summer Nights at the Bandstand in 2021 are:
