Described by A&R Factory as a “melodically gifted powerhouse”, Glasgow based Black Star Jackals burst on to the scene in 2019 with debut single Maybe winning great critical acclaim. The band then went on to win the Scottish final of the Soundwaves Music Competition. Since then the alt-rock 4 piece have quickly garnered new fans, radio airplay and positive reviews from industry professionals thanks to their infectious melodies and hard rock vibes.

New single, Always The Same is released on Friday 11th December, and it’s a song with a powerful story. Frontman Kieran McFarlane explains – “It’s a song about the frustration that creeps in when a loved one falls into the trap of addiction. It starts with a cautiously optimistic melody that reflects the hope one feels when thinking that maybe, things will be different this time, only to come crashing down in the chorus and expose the anger and pain that comes with being let down time and time again.”

Recorded and produced at Venice of the North Studios, the band were provided with a fantastic space to capture the raw energy needed to bring this emotionally charged song to fruition.
