A wet night in the city was not going to dampen the Glasgow crowd tonight, Amyl and The Sniffers had rolled into town, and were ready to raise the roof on the famous venue, rain or no rain. The band currently on their world tour were kicking off their UK leg in Glasgow. The sold-out show was set to be rammed tonight with this rearranged date, the original date having been postponed due to unfortunate circumstances, now the band were ready to deliver their rollercoaster show to the waiting Glasgow Crowd.

The show opened with fellow Australians C.O.F.F.I.N. who really delivered a powerful set. The drummer wearing an old 1978 Scotland National team shirt, told the waiting crowd there’s many things Australia and Scotland have in common, the main thing being ACDC as they played a few chords from the band that received a rapturous applause from the Glasgow crowd. The band played a powerful rock / punk set full on delighting the Glasgow crowd. A perfect warm up for the packed venue, sampling as they went with some local brew in the way of Buckfast, cordially passing this around on stage. A short support set tonight, they will be back next year, out on their own delivering a full set, that’s sure to rock the famous venue to its core.

It was time for Glasgow to welcome Amy Taylor and co to take the stage, intro music was playing as the band took their places, picking up their instruments ready to explode, the crowd see Amy in bright orange shorts and blue top, glancing over the crowd taking it all in, she exploded into the opening song Control, running around the stage, delivering a powerful opening track, Glasgow was set for punk overload. The energy coming from Amy was unreal, giving the crowd everything saying it was so good to be in a venue like this. The band were on top form, playing through Balaclava Lover Boogie and the excellent Got You, the crowd in full voice singing back word for word with the band. The band were literally blown away with the response. The band were on fire playing through Capital, Shake Ya, Laughing and Guided by Angels. The set was in full throttle from the off, and the energy from the stage was replicated with the sold-out Glasgow crowd, giving their all.

Closing this powerful set with No More Tears and Some Mutts (Can’t Be Muzzled) had Glasgow crowd raise the roof clean off the venue. Amy Taylor and co end the set with the awesome Hertz. She looked overwhelmed by the reaction of the Glasgow sold out crowd, it was evident the band didn’t want to leave, they said their goodbyes to the Glasgow crowd knowing it won’t be for long, they will soon be back on our shores again. This was a night of passion and energy delivered to Glasgow with Amyl and The Sniffers. If you can find a ticket buy it now, you won’t be disappointed this is a show not to be missed at a town near you.
