Testament to the noise being created on the Glasgow music scene by The Heritage, the sold out venue had a line of eager music lovers snaking along Jamaica Street waiting to get out of the cold night air.
A four band roster means early opening and an early first band.
The Frescoes opened kicked us off with a decent set of covers followed by Smoke Can Vanish and Haircut Overdose both of whom warmed up the crowd in the manner all good guest bands should… they kicked some ass!
A very quick change over brought us the main event of the evening.
From the moment they launched into their opening track, The Heritage had the sold out room in the palm of their hands. Their signature mix of soaring melodies and tight musicianship was on full display, with frontman Zac on good form.
The set consisted of mostly original songs with an Oasis cover thrown in for good measure.
Every song was met with enthusiasm, proving just how much their music resonates with their ever growing audience.
The connection between the band and the audience was undeniable, creating an electric atmosphere that lingered long after the final notes rang out.
As the set closed, the cheers were deafening, with the audience demanding more. The Heritage delivered, they absolutely smashed it out of the park!
As James Finlay put it, “Nights like this are why we do this.”
With their undeniable stage presence and a setlist that showcased both power and emotion, The Heritage proved why they are one of the most exciting new live acts on the scene today. If you get the chance to see them, don’t hesitate—you won’t be disappointed
Fresh off stage after their performance at The Classic Grand, James from The Heritage stopped for a quick chat with Scottish Music Network
SMN – Hi James… how was that?
JF – I’m buzzing; that was the best one yet. This is why we do this and there’s definitely more to come!
The energy in there was unreal!
SMN – for those who haven’t found you yet; who are you?
JF – The Heritage… look out for us!
We are an indie rock band from East Kilbride. There’s Zak on vocals, David on rhythm guitar and Cooper on bass… then there’s Ben on drums and me on lead guitar.
We formed in 2023 and our main influences are the likes of Oasis, The Amazons and Fontaines DC but I think we have our own sound… we do have our own sound; we bring something a bit different to the table.
SMN – you seem to be on a fast track to bigger things… not many bands can be found playing a headline set at The Classic Grand having only played 2 gigs
JF – we played our first gig recently at The Key in East Kilbride quickly followed by our first Glasgow gig at McChuills; obviously tonight is our biggest yet but it’s still just the start of things.
SMN – so… what’s next for The Heritage?
JF – we are about to go into a studio to record an ep which, hopefully, will be released soon.
We plan to play as many live dates as we can… try to keep the buzz going in the Glasgow scene and then play some other cities in the UK
SMN – Do you have any gigs coming up that you can tell us about?
JF – Yes there’s a few things in the pipeline including King Tut’s and St Luke’s and after tonight we can’t wait to get back out on the stage to bring the energy!
We have an ever growing catalogue of music that we want people to hear… so, yeah, look out for us!
SMN – nice one; thanks for speaking to us and we’ll see you and the boys again soon
