Following on from the critically acclaimed and commercially successful fifth year in 2019, Ramblin’ Man Fair returns in 2020! This year the festival will take place on the 17th, 18thand 19thJuly 2020. Having recently announced Clutch for three sets in 2020 as a special new festival residency concept, Ramblin’ Man Fair are delighted to announce further acts for the already spectacular bill.
ANN WILSON (Planet Rock Mainstage, Sunday 19thJuly 2020)– Inducted into the Rock N Roll of Fame in 2013 with her band Heart, the multi-platinum recording artist Ann Wilson is the true definition of rock royalty. Wilson has written and sung on some of the biggest rock radio hits of the past five decades including “Barracuda,” “Crazy on You,” “What About Love?,” “All I Wanna Do Is Make Love to you”, “These Dreams” and “Alone.”
In addition to her work with Heart, Wilson has collaborated with the likes of Cheap Trick, Loverboyand Alice inChainson their iconic extended play ‘SAP’ alongside Chris Cornell and Mark Arm of Mudhoney singing on tracks ‘Brother’ and ‘Am I Inside’, to this day ‘SAP’ is one of the highest selling EP’s of all time.
Her dramatic soprano is as versatile as it is powerful, being voted as one of the best heavy metal/rock voices of all time. In 2007 she released her first solo album ‘Hope & Glory’,which featured a host of high-profile guests like Elton John, Alison Krauss, and Rufus Wainwright, this was followed by the critically acclaimed record ‘Immortal’ in 2018. The same year Ann performed a truly moving cover of “Blackhole Sun”a tribute to life long friend Chris Cornell alongside Alice in Chains Jerry Cantrell at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Ann Wilson is a truly amazing addition to Ramblin’ Man Fair’s already stellar 2020 line up!
BLUES PILLS (Planet Rock Mainstage, Sunday 19thJuly 2020)– Ramblin’ Man Fair are thrilled to welcome back Blues Pills to the festival for the second time. Very few modern bands are lucky enough to have such a unique, individual and inimitable style as well as blessed with such an incredible voice at the forefront, so it’s very rare that a group representing traditional blues-rock can come along with all these characteristics and whip up such excitement in 2020.
Blues Pills contain all these elements to create extraordinary music that sounds original and new but respects those long-held rules of blues and rock and roll tradition. Although, it’s the individual characteristics of the band that makes this music electrifying; the steady bass of Kristoffer Schander, thumping rhythm of André Kvarnström, technical and yet improvisational guitar of Zack Anderson, the sensational soaring vocals of frontwoman Elin Larsson that set this band apart.
