Live dates, including European shows with Pinegrove, an appearance at Heavenly’s 30th Anniversary at The Trades Club in Hebden Bridge and festival slots at Green Man, Sea Change and End Of The Road all announced.
Katy J Pearson has today shared the video for Hey You, her latest track for Heavenly Recordings. Written during solo sessions at community artist space Island Studios in her home city of Bristol, the track was later recorded with Ali Chant (PJ Harvey, M. Ward, Perfume Genius, Gruff Rhys) at his studio Toy Box.
Talking about the track, Katy said:
The track is accompanied by a stunning video directed by Unfolding Films and shot at Portmeirion in North Wales and Katy added:
I went to Portmeirion many years ago with my mother and brother. We used to always go and stay with my mums family friend up near Betws-y-coed area – I fell in love with the area and most importantly Portmeirion. I love the surreal, magical atmosphere of the place and it’s just so beautiful. I enlisted the help of my brother Rob who plays guitar in KJP and my good friends from an excellent band called Grandma’s House to star in it as my band – they all did a wonderful job. As you may notice we were all rather windswept as during filming we were battling the harsh gails and rain of Storm Brendan but it definitely added a certain vibe to the video!
The directors, Unfolding Films added:
Hey You follows Tonight, her debut 7” release for Heavenly at the end of last year which also featured her own take of the M. Ward track Poison Cup and it continues
Having completed a European tour alongside Cass McCombs at the end of last year and more recently appeared at both the End of the Road Christmas party and the Line of Best Fit’s ‘Five Day Forecast’, she returns in to play alongside Pinegrove.
