Keith Richards releases a limited edition red vinyl 7” for this year’s Record Store Day with the classic tracks ‘Hate It When You Leave’ and a bluesy cover of ‘Key To The Highway’.
This is the second Keith Richards’ Record Store Day release, and follows the glorious ‘Run Run Rudolph’ in 2017. “Thank god record stores still exist! They should be cherished,” Keith said.
‘Hate It When You Leave’ is taken from Keith’s second solo album ‘Main Offender’ released in 1992, produced and written with his
X-Pensive Wino comrades Steve Jordan and Waddy Wachtel.
‘Key To The Highway’ is extremely rare having only been released on the Japanese version of ‘Main Offender’. First recorded by Charlie Segar in 1940, the Big Bill Broonzy version is better known.
Main Offender’ followed the release of Keith’s first solo album ‘Talk Is Cheap’ and was recorded with the X-Pensive Winos in California and New York.
The packaging has been created exclusively for Record Store Day. Check the Record Store Day website HERE
