NEW ALBUM : Tigerstate Release Self Titled Debut Album

Introducing Tigerstate
Self Titled Debut Album
Out November 4th on Fig Tree Music
‘Occupied’ Out Now

Having already made serious waves in their native Norway, one of Oslo’s most exciting new acts, indie collective Tigerstate, have announced their disco driven self-titled debut album out November 4th on Fig Tree Music. The band today release the record’s first taste in ‘Occupied’.

An ode to the 70s with a vibrant, modern edge, ‘Occupied’ is a track made for the dancefloor. Packed to the brim with the hooks, the synth driven single is drenched in disco vibes and charmingly catchy. “This is a song about dancing, love and jealousy,” the band said of the track. “We embraced the cheesiness and disco. It has a creamy and groovy synth sequence with an infectious cherry melody on top.”

Set on a dark, sweaty night out in Oslo, the track is accompanied by the stunning music video directed by Herman Friis. ”It’s about letting yourself loose and not worrying about the outcome or consequences,” the band said of the video. “We wanted to film this on 16 mm film to give it an extra touch of nostalgia and feelgood factor. We love disco from the 70s and 80s and this is definitely inspired by that.”

A sum greater than their individual parts, Tigerstate wear their influences proudly on their sleeves while remaining current, fresh and exciting. Produced by Marius Elfstedt, Hans Kristian Nordin and the band, the album is packed with pop bangers. Leading with the irresistible first single ‘Occupied’, the album features the hazy, funk filled ‘Besserwisser’; the psyche, soul influenced ‘Back To You’; sun-drenched indie hit ‘Loose Ends’ and cosmic summer anthem ‘Sunrise’.

“The album is sort of a fever dream, where nothing is impossible,” the band said of the LP. “Making this album kind of felt like that. It was like everything came by itself on a conveyor belt. All the ideas and melodies came quite easily. It was meant to be.”

With a string of sweat-drenched live shows, including by:Larm Festival and Vill Vill Vest, and two acclaimed EPs under their belts, the band is ready for their next chapter. Watch this space!
