‘ACTING TOO SOON ON IT’ —
STRANGE DIMENSIONS
Release date: Wednesday 25th January 2023
Strange Dimensions are a Greenock-based, indie-rock four-piece that formed in lockdown. Now here they are, back to end their 2022 in style with the brand-new banger, ‘Acting Too Soon On It’.
Despite only forming a month before the first lockdown, their career has been exciting ever since; they’ve already shared bills with Kyle Falconer, Vistas and emerging acts such as Spyres, Dead Pony and Shambolics. And you can bet there’s even more in store for them as well.
‘Acting Too Soon On It’ is a track that came about during that lockdown, from a mere chord progression and set of lyrics that were fashioned late at night.
These then evolved into the core of the song you hear now, via phone call. As time’s gone by, it’s become a fan favourite when played live, and it’s considered a defining song for the outfit, as it masterfully encompasses all their signature-sound elements.
To really give this phenomenal new track the boost it deserves, Strange Dimensions headed into the studio with none other than Bruce Rintoul (Twin Atlantic, VUKOVI, Fatherson). Switching up their recording process was abold but wise move for the band, who have come away with one triumphant and assured must-hear in ‘Acting Too Soon On It’.
With a whole host of gigs and festivals under their belt now — namely the coveted Summer Nights event at Glasgow’s legendary King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut and the mighty Tenement Trail in 2022 — Strange Dimensions are going places, and fast!
Quote – “We’ve taken a different direction by adding synth throughout the whole song & feel the track is a step up musically from our first two releases. We are buzzing with how it’s turned out & can’t wait for everyone to hear it.” – John Jack (Bassist)
