Since forming in London a little over five years ago, indie rock four-piece Cascade have gone from strength to strength. Having accumulated thousands of streams since their debut single ‘Listen Now’, the band have turned heads both in their native London, and further afield, going on to share stages with the likes of Cassia, Himalayas, The Skinner Brothers, and BlackWaters. Not to mention a coveted slot at the Isle of Wight Festival.
From here, the buzz has only got louder. A further smattering of single and video releases further increased the band’s visibility, with ‘Come Along’ earning the band their first radio plays. It’s something which has continued with following single ‘Are We Insane?’ which has been featured worldwide including radio play from stations such as KROCK Europe, as well as local stations like Chorley FM, Big City Radio and many more, not to mention garnering the band’s first official Spotify success, with editorial playlists such as Indie Radar, New Music July, and New Rock finally taking note.
Indeed, Cascade’s next single, ‘Merry Little World’ is set to do much the same. Almost exactly three minutes of searing, soaring indie rock, the track wastes little time in grabbing its listeners by the scruff of their neck, and dragging them kicking and screaming through its runtime.
And it’s exactly the type of no frills, balls to the wall rock and roll that we’ve been crying out for in recent months; a rallying cry that says even if things aren’t perhaps the way you thought they’d be, they could be a whole lot worse as well.
