NEW SINGLE : Manchester’s HORLA Break Silence With New Single ‘Sound of A Gun’

Taking influence from arena sized rock behemoths such as Radiohead, Muse, and Arcade Fire with a love of the cinematic/soundtrack sounds of Sigur Ros/Mogwai. Manchester’s HORLA are a band who ability to combine bombastic and melodramatic music with defiantly haunting vocals, statement lyrical themes & contemporary modern production sets them head and shoulders above their contemporaries

Forming in 2018 as an outlet for both material penned during frontman Nathan Howard’s time in Embers & Jordan Allen, and newer material as well an emerging unique live show.

HORLA formed in order to both refine an extensive back catalogue of songs penned over Howard’s time in Embers / Jordan Allen, as well as new material whilst honing their unique live show and sound. A combination of well respected Manchester musicians, whose credits include the aforementioned Embers, Bipolar Sunshine and Brahma-Loka.

HORLA’s debut single,‘Sound of a Gun’, is set for release on 25th Feb 2022, and is the product of several years of labour for the band. Three and a half minutes of deeply emotional alt rock, it explores the peaks and troughs of human emotion with devastating honesty. The eponymous lead single taken from their forthcoming EP, it’s this EP that will show just how versatile, and just how nuanced HORLA truly are.

With a multi-sensory live show in the works, and a platform to finally showcase what is some of their biggest songs to date, including performances at YANA festival and various gigs in the pipeline, it’s obvious that HORLA are starting their year with a bang, and after two years of limbo, who can really blame them?

HORLA are:

Nathan Howard – Vocals

Josh Leach – Bassist/Backing Vocalist

Maximilian Mawdsley – Lead Guitarist

Rob Evans – Drummer/Percussionist
