Broken Lines are a, UK based, Psychedelic Punk band. Our emphasis is to create upbeat, energetic music with influences from punk, rock, psychedelic and just about anything else that grabs us!
Tell us about yourself.
When did the band start?
Broken Lines was formed in 2014 with the current lineup of Dave, Jack and Mark finalised in 2017.
Where are you from?
The band has its’ own studio space where we write, rehearse and record, just outside of Narberth in Pembrokeshire.
How did you start?
In 2017, Jack joined Dave in the embryonic stages. We started looking for a bass player and after a couple of initial possibilities we were contacted by Mark Briscoe at the end of 2017. His experience, ability and musical knowledge have enhanced Broken Lines and together we are reaching new and exciting levels of creativity and sound…
What style of music do you class yourselves as?
We don’t. Our emphasis is to create upbeat and energetic music with punk, rock, psychedelic and just about anything else that influences us! We play for the love and enjoyment of music and aim to portray that in our songs and performances.
Who are the biggest bands influences?
Mark: Musically: The Stranglers, The Clash, Dead Kennedys, New Model Army, Bob Marley, The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, Steve Harley.
We have all sorts of influences from all sorts of sources. Some of our songs are inspired by films (can you guess which ones?), some are inspired by what we see going on around us and in the world today. There’s plenty of stuff going on that has an impact on us day to day, so there’s no shortage of inspiration, be it good or bad!
Dave: Jimi Hendrix, Nick Cave, Rage Against The Machine, Led Zeppelin, Radiohead, Pink Floyd, The Clash, Bowie.
We are all interested in art of all forms. For me, human beings are creative, expressive and sensitive creatures and all these things combine together in the creative process. I just want to try and channel the feelings I have about life, observations I’ve had or just letting stuff out and expressing it through our music.
Jack: New York Dolls and The Pink Fairies. No other influences that I’m aware of?!?!?!?!?
Are you signed to a record label?
Yes, Wolf Entertainment. We have a totally free relationship with them, enabling us to write what we like. They are a cool bunch!

Plans for the year.
What are the bands plans for this year?
We plan to go out on the road to promote the album and have a second album in the making already, so lots to do!
Do you have any tours booked?
We are about to start a mini Spring tour to promote our new album and are hopefully going to Europe later in the year!

Liberating!
If there was one sentence that would relate to your band as a selling point what would it be?
No other trio have ever produced such a big sound!
