“With echoes of Chris Martin and Ben Howard, St. Lundi could quite quickly become your favourite, new emerging singer-songwriter this year.” – Record Of The Day
Having already released singles ‘You’ve Got The Wrong Guy’, ‘Ruin’ and ‘Learn To Let Go’ these last few months, which have since gone on to amass radio support from BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio, as well as landing on numerous Spotify and Apple Music playlists, 23-year-old troubadour Archie Langley aka St Lundi has now returned to deliver his highly-anticipated debut EP ‘Heavy Words’ through Propeller Recordings (Slotface, Dagny).
Featuring the previously unveiled tracks, as well as the newly shared ‘Parachute’ and the EP’s title-track, ‘Heavy Words’ looks to cement the frontman as a truly passionate and captivating emerging artist. Blending bold and atmospheric pop dynamics with a rich and heartfelt intensity, his first collection showcases his soaring vocals and sombre songwriting with a simple and elegant beauty, displaying the varying stages of a relationship breaking down.
Speaking about the new EP, he said, “I feel as though I’ve learnt a lot through the process of writing this EP. I have worked with some amazing people and touched on topics that are so raw and real to most, including myself. The title Heavy Words sums this EP up perfectly. It’s all about communicating with others, something I know I have struggled with and I know others that do too. I really believe that communication is so important in every aspect of life as it allows us to say how we feel rather than bottling it all up inside.”
Led by the EP’s title-track, the new single ‘Heavy Words’ continues the heartfelt theme of this new release. Co-written with Rhys Lewis and opting for a more pulsing production than we have heard before, this newest delight looks to bring a more anthemic and diverse sound to his sweeping direction.
Adding about the single ‘Heavy Words’, “’Heavy Words’ was written from the perspective of someone who feels as though their relationship is on the brink of breaking down as they know their partner is holding onto the words they don’t want to hear, words that could end everything. Accepting this is never easy but the only way to get through it is by talking with one another. This song takes you on that journey of realisation.”
St. Lundi will be producing 200 limited edition art print bundles to celebrate the release of the EP. Having collaborated with Guy Pittard, who won awards as the creative director of Jax Jones’ iconic ‘Housework’ series, there is a hand painted artwork to go with each song. The art prints are signed and numbered by St. Lundi and feature a set of 6 designs, with lyrics printed on the reverse. You can view all of the artwork and order via www.stlundi.com, these high quality art prints are £30 for a pack of 6.

At 21 years of age, having grown up on the little known English Channel outpost ‘Hayling Island’, Archie Langley found himself living with family, in and out of dead end jobs, whilst trying to build a name for himself as a singer-songwriter in the Portsmouth and Hampshire area.
One evening – with very little to his name – Archie went out to the local newsagent and instead of going home, he spontaneously bought a one-way train ticket to London. The next evening he played an open mic night where he met some new friends who offered him a couch as accommodation which soon became his home for the next 6 months whilst laying the foundations of a new life in the capital.
A poet at heart – with a bold voice and songwriting that draws comparisons to Chris Martin, Ben Howard and Damien Rice – Archie has now honed his craft, with a skill for scribing emotionally charged, metaphor laden songs about love and life. Conceived as a shape-shifting project – St Lundi encompasses collaborations with songwriters and musician friends that Archie has met on his journey.
St Lundi is now signed to Propeller, who have recently helped to launch many up and coming artists including Au/Ra, Declan J Donovan, Yungblud and manage Spotify top 300 streaming artist Seeb. This has led to Archie working with new collaborators that have seen success with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Lewis Capaldi, JC Stewart and many others.
